This weekend, on the 28th and 29th of April, the 12th Rally Vipava Valley took place in the Vipava Valley, one of the most anticipated and visited motoring events in Slovenia. The rally included 96 km of speed trials on the challenging roads of the beautiful Vipava Valley, where drivers could test their racing skills and the performance of their cars.

After the first day of competition, the results were as expected, with the series national champion Rok Turk (Hyundai i20 Rally2) coming out on top. He was followed by local driver Marko Grossi and Italy's Federico Laurencich.

On the second day, there was a big turnaround in the top positions. Champion Rok Turk had to retire after the first few stages due to technical problems with the turbine. Marko Grossi (Hyundai i20 R5) took over the lead after that, but a mistake just two stages from the finish meant he lost first place. The result was a 5.6-second lead over Grossi, with Italian Federico Laurencich (Skoda Fabia R5 Evo) taking first place.

The atmosphere in Vipava and Ajdovščina was exceptional, the visitors were enthusiastic, the programme was well organised and offered something for everyone. The rally was another great opportunity to visit the beautiful Vipava Valley.
