This year's Okusi Vipave - Wine and Culinary Festival - will take place in Vipava this weekend from 21 to 22 May. The event will take place in the Baroque Lanthieri Mansion.
The traditional festival has been held for decades and every year brings together all lovers of great food and delicious wine. The event is a great opportunity to get to know the Vipava Valley in a different way, while enjoying good food and a glass of wine. For the suppliers, it is a great opportunity to showcase, trade and network.
This year, 30 winemakers from Vipava Valley will be participating in the festival and there will be more than 100 different wines from the Vipava Valley to taste. The winemakers who will be presenting are: Klet Kosovel, Kmetija Barkola, Kmetija Cigoj, Kraljič, Posestvo Lavrenčič, Mansus, Posestvo Ferjančič, Posestvo Svetlik, Posestvo Štokelj, Posestvo Zoria, Tomas, Univerza Nova Gorica, UOU Vina, Vina Bizjak, Vina Bric, Vina Colja, Vina Čuk, Vina Guštin, Kmetija Vina Dornberg, Vina Fornazarič, Vina Krapež, Vina Poljšak, Vina Ranarum, Vina Sveti Martin, Vina Saksida, Vina Ussai, Vina Vidus, Vino Marc, Vinska klet Miška in Vipava 1984.
The festival starts on Sunday 21 May, where you can taste great food, taste different wines and talk to winemakers, growers and great chefs while you taste. The first day of the festival will include a wine tasting of Vipava Valley winemakers, a Vipava market where you can taste local produce, cuisine, an olive oil, vine and wine workshop and a guided tour of the museum's winemaker collection. On the first day, the following culinary masters will be present: Gostilna Termika, Ošterija Žogica, Gostilna Podfarovž in Slaščičarna Ajdovščina.
On the second day, Monday 22 May, the festival will host the Tastes of Vipava Masterclass, where we will have the opportunity to get to know eighteen selected wines from the participating winemakers through a guided tasting. In addition, on the second day there will be wine tasting, a Vipava market and culinary tasting, an olive oil and hospitality workshop, wine and culinary tastings and a guided tour of the wine museum collection. On the second day, the event will include: Gostilna in vinoteka Faladur, Ekološka turistična kmetija Toncevi, Gostilna Podfarovž, Pizzeria Porka Eva, Penzion Sinji Vrh in Frik Bistro.
Festival Okusi Vipavske is a great opportunity to visit the Vipava Valley and taste the excellent cuisine of this beautiful region, as well as tasting the excellent indigenous wines of the Vipava Valley.
